Communications Director

PL+US

BIO

As the Communications Director at PL+US — the nation's leading non-profit solely focused on winning paid family leave for everyone in the U.S. — Shira Albagli leverages social impact communications campaigns to create real world impact. In the last year alone, the organization has won the policy for over 2.5 million people, the majority of whom are in low-wage jobs. Previously, Shira ran viral campaigns at Jennifer Siebel Newsom's The Representation Project including #AskHerMore and #NotBuyingIt, both of which challenge our culture's sexist status quo. In her spare time, she supports communities that empower women. She serves as the communications chair for the Closing the Women's Wealth Gap Initiative, co-founded a Bay Area women's mastermind group, and was elected to the Alumnae Association of Barnard College's Nominating Committee. Shira graduated cum laude from Barnard College, Columbia University where she was an Athena Leadership Scholar.
