Kathleen believes there is no creativity without bravery.
As Co-Chief Strategy Officer at KBS, she helped the agency make the leap from brand strategy to a 50+ person integrated group across social and content, digital, CRM, data & analytics, and product strategy. She is now at work launching KBS’ business strategy discipline.
At Ogilvy, she applied creativity to her pursuit of multicultural work and led the agency’s youth practice, Tribe…while also working on clients like Kraft Foods and Avon and winning awards like a Cannes Lion and multiple Effies and Jay Chiat Awards for Strategy.
Prior to advertising, Kathleen developed the business sense that she believes is a requirement for strategic bravery. She was a management consultant at Monitor Group, working for Fortune 500 clients like Coca-Cola and AT&T in Brazil, Peru, Turkey, and the U.S.
Before that, she was a “girl who coded” before there was Girls Who Code: Kathleen obtained her Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Stanford University.
But where Kathleen feels bravest is in the cause of diversity. She is part of the Multicultural Alliance and sits on the Board of Directors for She Runs It (formerly AWNY/Advertising Women of New York). She is active in her agency’s women’s group, KBShe, and she is the co-founder of a non-profit, On Behalf Organization - a group of parents and educators working to end bias on behalf of the next generation.
And Kathleen is the proud mom of Emmanuel…Because, after all, it’s the next generation who needs our bravery and creativity the most.
