BIO

Britt (they/them) is an Art Director on the Retail Design Team at Arc, specializing in designing and building branded environments and experiences. With the Leo Burnett Group, they contribute their time to many Diversity & Inclusion initiatives to help create a more openly empathic work culture and acts as a dynamo for any and all actions around gender and intersectional inclusion. They have represented Arc on the ‘Beyond the Rainbow’ panel at Leo Burnett during PRIDE month 2019 and shared their TEDtalk on why we should decriminalize sex work at Leo’s 83rd Anniversary. Britt was a driving force in getting pronouns added to Arc’s email signatures, and they also founded the ‘Burnetter is for all’ campaign to distribute pronoun pins and raise awareness on pronoun etiquette to all Burnett employees.

Outside of the office, Britt’s work in comedy has spanned over 5 years in Chicago, with shows at Second City, iO, Steppenwolf and The Human Rights Campaign. Besides touring and performing in comedy festivals across the US, they also contribute to Cards Against Humanity and wrestles in the Chicago League of Lady Arm Wrestlers as Stone Cold Jane Austen.

Britt also founded their own comedy show in 2016 to promote body positivity and uplift underrepresented voices in stand-up called ‘Strip Joker.’ Partnered with the You Are Beautiful campaign, Strip Joker provides performers a Brave Space to get vulnerable, tell their jokes, and embrace a totally unique environment designed to support POC and queer comedians in Chicago. This show perfectly intersects with Britt’s comedy which focuses on social issues and finding new ways to communicate complex ideas in an informative, funny, and accessible way.
