New Engen is looking for a Director/Senior Director, Strategy & Insights

Job Description

The Director of Strategy & Insights will lead New Engen’s efforts to be widely recognized as an influential thought leader in marketing, media and creative. They will be tasked with publishing quality and actionable insights to enable brands to make better business decisions. The Director will interface with key clients to present strategic findings, provide thoughtful marketing strategies to be used by all account teams and mentor New Engen account teams in client engagements. This is a new role for the company and will require an entrepreneurial mindset and a passion for working across teams to be successful.

What You Will Do

  1. Drive the insights strategy and agenda for the company, working closely with our Media, Creative and Senior Leadership teams
  2. Responsible for taking New Engen to the forefront of the industry. Looking for and scouting the latest trends/insights and bringing these perspectives back to the Agency to turn this information into cutting edge operations and services we can offer to our clients.
  3. Pose and answer the most strategic, provocative, and compelling questions for our current & future clients
  4. Leverage first- and third-party data to uncover and amplify the most actionable insights
  5. Deep and ongoing partnership with Marketing & Sales to ensure our thought leadership pieces help our clients make decisions that translate into better business outcomes
  6. Deep and ongoing partnership with Media Services & Creative account teams to ensure insights generate significant value in our client partnerships
  7. Partner with the broader marketing and sales team to package and share those insights to the widest possible audience
  8. Inspire the org with the most innovative, new research best practices from outside our industry or our walls to push our thinking
  9. Measure the business impact of your insights in a thoughtful, on-going manner and actively shift resources and investments to ensure we continually optimize workstreams in real-time

Who You Are

  1. A leader who can lead by doing; you can’t resist the urge to practice your craft by rolling up your sleeves and working alongside your team to shape ideas that deliver against the strategy
  2. A strategic influencer who understands customer/partner needs and can articulate the value of insights at the highest level
  3. Leads effectively, influences and mentors marketers and creatives across various teams
  4. Possesses expert-level knowledge of marketing, business strategy and industry

What We Are Looking For

  1. 7+ years of experience within Insights and Analytics (ideally with experience with top agencies, publishers, management consulting and/or FMCGs)
  2. 4+ years leading and mentoring high-performing matrixed teams in a high-growth environment
  3. Strong analytical skills and business acumen working with multiple large sources of data to create evidence-base insights
  4. Excellent writer and communicator who can have deep, insightful conversations with CMOs, CEOs and Creative leaders
  5. Strong cross-functional partner with capacity to build alignment across functions
  6. Ability to balance short-term insights needs with building a longer-term foundation of self-serve tools
  7. Track record of thought leadership and deep familiarity with the latest and greatest in qualitative and quantitative research
  8. Understands insights as a mechanism for closing or amplifying a deal
  9. Experience working with syndicated resources like comScore, Nielsen, Kantar and eMarketer
